interesting:
13 things that do not make sense

a good reminding of that we aren't as smart as we think...

i'm feeling very unacquainted and insignificant right now. that's because today at work i had nothing else to do than think and reason, i literally spent 8 hours debating with myself. i was also watching other people who were running back and forth like maniacs, totally concentrating on their meaningless tasks. i started feeling  like an ant in an ant hill.

-*what the heck is the meaning of life?!*-

sometimes i get this funny feeling that everything around me is just in my imagination. that all you other people don't even exist, that nothing around me is real. (hmm... ever seen matrix?) i don't even feel real myself. sometimes i feel like i'm just a weird idea or a thought trapped in a strange body. like a programmed computer or something.

maybe i'm just loosing it.

or maybe i should quit my job.

hmm. needless to say that i've been busy and have had no time for updating this silly thing.
i just got home from a crazy trip in germany and france where i spent a week and a half with my friend. that trip was quite unexpected because we came up with the idea of traveling only 6 days before our departure. we only took our backbags with us and decided on the spot what we'd like to do. uh how i love impulsive travelling!

anyways. there's a few things i'd  like to talk about (because all this, as a *we-hope* future scientist, truly interests me).

as far as i'm concerned, scientific theories are firmly founded; there is a well accepted, solidly established body of evidence showing that evolution is real and, although knowledge of some mechanisms is incomplete, much is known about how evolution works. they are neither guesses nor speculations. there’s absolutely no controversy within science about the reality of evolution. creationism, on the other hand, is not a theory. there is no evidence, in the scientific sense, that supports it. creationism, or at least the particular variety accepted by mainly americans, is an expression of early middle eastern legend. it is fairly described as 'only a myth.'
i was checking out some anti-evolution web pages (here is one) and could only wonder what possibly can people win by simply lying about the theme they're trying to prove wrong/right. all i can say about these "anti-science pro-religion" sites is that they're obviously designed for people who already think a certain way. it is obvious that the author has no idea what he's talking about. i think it's very sad: millions of people read these sites and build their life philosofy around the ideas the sites suggest. it's totally insane. i mean, seriously: what kind of an idiot states arguments for creationism against evolution with a following kind of  example:
"Does the earth appear to be specifically designed to support human life?
Answer: Yes. The features of the earth-sun-moon system which are essential to a life support system for plants, animals and man are numerous."
great argument, dude.

please someone find me a pro creationism site with real, convincing facts and argumentation. i'd like to know where this creation 'scientists" get their ideas from, other than from the bible. i'm going to major in evolution genetics and other evolution studies in the university, so you can understand this interests me.

i must say that i like the (common) european way of christianity better. our motto is: "use your head and listen to your heart. they're both god given gifts".
